Wessex Chemicals move manufacturing to new factory to enable both new product development and increased production levels

In the year Wessex Chemical Factors celebrates it’s 40th business anniversary they have confirmed they are upgrading their manufacturing branch, Wessex Manufacturing Ltd, and moving it to a new factory location to meet growing supply needs. Whilst the company head office is based in Wimborne, Dorset, their existing factory was set up in 2007 in Daventry with just 2 staff which has since risen to a current headcount of 7.

Back in 2007, the factory began with a filling machine which could fill just 2 bottles at a time (see photo , left) and now boasts an additional 6-head filling machine (see photo, below). With two main filling lines running, staff can complete larger and smaller product runs complete with batch coding, heat sealing and auto-labeling.

As the business has grown, the company now need a larger factory premises to meet increasing customer demand for existing  as well as create important new products to add to their portfolio. The new, upgraded factory, based just down the road from the current location, will allow them to increase production, add much needed storage as well as installing a brand new Research & Development lab for product development and testing.

The new factory space will allow us to expand our production into a better space with a new, more efficient layout which will reduce handling time on raw materials and making goods in/out more efficient as well. The addition of the new lab will support the company’s focus on sustainability and renewables, not just for new products but also making changes to existing products to make them less harmful and better for the environment. We are excited to move to the new factory as it marks a new phase in our business as we continue to grow and make changes to meet the changing landscape of the sector” said Company Director, Hannah Borowski-Renouf.

Wessex Chemical Factors expect to move to their new factory premises this May.
