Radiator & Underfloor Biocide contains a broad-spectrum dual biocidal formulation designed to suppress and prevent microbial contamination across a wide range of operating conditions. This includes protection against bacteria, fungi, moulds, and algae, which can otherwise lead to biofilm formation, fouling, and loss of thermal efficiency within closed-loop heating systems. The formulation is effective in both hot and cold water circuits, maintaining stability at typical system temperatures and ensuring continuous biological control throughout seasonal cycles.
Radiator & Underfloor Biocide is chemically compatible with corrosion inhibitors such as Wessex W100 and W101, allowing it to be incorporated as part of a comprehensive water treatment programme. It can be dosed via filling loops, radiators, manifolds, or through magnetic filters without affecting metal, plastic, or rubber components typically found in central heating systems. When applied at the recommended concentration, 1 litre treats up to 150 litres of system water, providing thorough system-wide protection.
For installations showing visible contamination, sludge, or organic fouling, systems should be pre-cleaned using Wessex Rapid Cleanse before refilling with biocide and Corrosion Inhibitor to ensure maximum performance. Annual replenishment is advised to maintain consistent microbiological control and preserve long-term system efficiency.
How to Use
-
Introduce via filling loop, radiator, or manifold using a suitable injector.
-
Can also be added through a magnetic filtration device.
-
For open vented systems, dose via the feed and expansion (F&E) tank.
-
Top up annually for best performance and ongoing protection.
-
For heavily contaminated systems, flush first with Wessex Rapid Cleanse, then refill using Radiator Biocide and W100 Corrosion Inhibitor.
